International Academy of Volleyball is proud to announce the launch of the 2022/23 Academy program.

Athletes within this program will gain experiences like no other!

Athletes will see themselves engaging in training sessions with our amazing coaches in preparation for three huge tournaments across 2022/23 with the highlight being a trip to the North Island of New Zealand to compete in the exclusive Academy championships. Athletes will also be supported by our partners in relation to their physical and mental health learning skills not only for volleyball but for life.


Under 19 Boys - Must remain 18 through 2023 , (if you turn 19 in 2023 please submit registration and contact us immediately)
Under 19 Girls - Must remain 18 through 2023 , (if you turn 19 in 2023 please submit registration and contact us immediately)

Under 17 Boys - Must remain 16 through 2023 , (if you turn 17 in 2023 please submit registration for U19 team)

Under 17 Girls - Must remain 16 through 2023 , (if you turn 17 in 2023 please submit registration for U19 team)

The three tournaments athletes will attend are;

1. ACT -Good Neighbour Tournament, Canberra - November 2022 

Good Neighbour is one of the largest and longest-running and most prestigious volleyball competitions in Australia and saw in excess   of 120 club teams from across most states and territories, as well as elite teams from the National Program competing. Teams competed in 13 divisions, 6 men’s divisions, 5 women’s divisions and 2 recreational divisions

2. New Zealand - Academy Championships, Hawkes Bay NZ - January 2023 

The Academy Championships is an exclusive invite only competition which will see IAOV athletes engaging in competition against other academy programs from around the world, this event will be like no other! athletes will head to the North Island of new Zealand and spend two days in a pre tournament camp with special guest coaches from around the world, following the camp athletes will participate in a three day tournament which will see athletes playing volleyball in ways they never imagined, concluding the tournament athletes will engage in two days of sight seeing and exciting activities before returning to Australia. this tournament will see athletes not only experiencing great International volleyball but importantly creating memories that will last a lifetime.

3. Victoria - Seaside Volleyball Tournament, Warrnambool - March 2023 

Warrnambool Volleyball is home to Australia's biggest and longest running volleyball event, the Seaside tournament held every long weekend in March. The tournament  draws players from at least three states, including country and metropolitan Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. More than 600 player, officials and supporters converge on Warrnambool's state of the art stadium annually for the tournament ,contesting more than 180 matches.

Process of selection

Expressions of interest for the 2022 program will close on 29th of April @5:00 pm 

After EOI close we will be in contact to organize a suitable opportunity to come and witness you/ your child compete with their current organization.

After the scouting process you will be invited to attend a information session for both athletes and parents/ guardians.

Athletes and Parent/Guardian MUST ATTEND this information session.

Final selections will then take place over two weekends with letters of acceptance being sent the following Monday, you will then have 1 week to accept offer before your offer expires.

Trainings- Trainings will consist of 1 night per week and then a number of weekend trainings, a complete training schedule will be released after final selections.

Training venues - training venues will be spread through Brisbane and Gold Coast alternating to allow athletes to have a local training as well as requirement to travel to training.

Travel- Travel is unfortunately unavoidable however once final selections have been made we will organise venues to suit a majority of athletes, however there will be occasions where you may be required to travel for training, we will likely have two regional training weekends to support regional athletes. A full training schedule will be released after selections.

Costings ~ Final costings will be announced after selection , however approximate costings will be advised at Information session
